Isomaltitol
Isomaltitol, also known as Palatintol or “Isomalt", is a functional sugar alcohol produced from sucrose through enzymatic conversion and hydrogenation. It has a sweetness of approximately 45%-60% of sucrose. It’s now widely used in the food and pharmaceutical fields.
Low hygroscopicity
Low calorie, only 50% of sucrose, about 2 kcal/g
Low GI value, around 2, can be used as a sucrose substitute to stabilize blood sugar
It has a pure sweetness, and can be blended with other sugar substitute sweeteners to cover off-flavors
Dental friendly
High tolerance: not easily causing diarrhea and can promote intestinal health
