Led by Fangda Wang, Niutang has grown from its start in 1969 as a domestic fine chemical manufacturer into a major global manufacturer and distributor of food additives, chemicals and pharmaceutical intermediates. Under Mr. Wang, the company became one of just 500 Chinese companies allowed to export its products.

First as general manager for 10 years, then as chairman starting in 1997, Mr. Wang focused on developing Niutang's advanced production processes, quality systems and research and development. He then capitalized on those strengths by broadening the company's product portfolio to include artificial sweeteners, folic acid, and curing agents.

Mr. Wang also guided Niutang through its transition from a government-owned enterprise into a private, shareholder-owned company. To further grow the company, Mr. Wang built Niutang's presence internationally, first opening an office in Europe in 2000 and then one in the United States in 2003.

From 1979 to 1987, Mr. Wang was party branch secretary in Zhuangqiao Village.

Mr. Wang majored in economy management at Zhuhai College.
